(1) WHY DO PEOPLE GET ADDICTED TO SMOKING?
It all starts with one try, "YB" and when we love the feeling, we're convinced that it is a source of SATISFACTION. However, when our level of satisfaction dwindles, we crave for the feeling once again, which causes us to further with the addiction. We tend to depend on it like OXYGEN. Cheers to non smokers! And more cheers to quitters!

Why do we seek for things that will give us satisfaction
that's merely fleeting, and surely leads to nothingness?
What's sad is that even if we know it, WE DO IT.

(2) THE SAME CYCLE GOES OUT FOR WEIGHTY THINGS
such as drugs, alcohol and sex. These are things that are terribly OVERINDULGENT that once people fall into it, a cycle of search, satisfaction and emptiness is formed. What's more, when an addiction can no longer supply us with the level of satisfaction we yearn for, we move on to our next FLEETING FANCY, not knowing how further damaging it is to us, and to the people around us.
WE SINK LOWER AND LOWER. It takes a lot of effort to get out of these addictions.

"a cycle of search, satisfaction and emptiness is formed"

(3) BUT WHY DO WE SEARCH FOR FULFILLMENT?
It's because the search for satisfaction is EMBEDDED IN OUR VERY BEING.
God originally CREATED and DESIGNED us to be with Him ETERNALLY.
DEATH WAS NON-EXISTENT, and Adam and Eve had a PERFECT relationship with God.

However, sin was created when Adam & Eve were tempted; thus,
CRIPPLING our relationship w/ God, and separating us from Him.
Nevertheless, a NATURAL SEARCH for eternity with God remains deep inside our hearts

"The search for satisfaction is EMBEDDED IN OUR VERY BEING."

On the contrary,
(4) WE TEND TO LOOK FOR SATISFACTION IN THE WRONG PLACES.
We have a natural search for it but a lot of us are misled. We PREOCCUPY ourselves with countless things and ways to make us HAPPY. We can care less to SIN, and ACT STUPID, and more than willingly do them OVER AND OVER AGAIN, because the happiness we gain is SHORT-LIVED. We seek out for something to complete us. It’s natural.

(5) WE BELIEVE IN "FOREVER"
It’s the same feeling with people. The natural implication of having our loved ones with us "FOREVER" is present in us (from the range of family, friends, lover, partners, etc.) On that account, when they leave us, it freaking breaks our hearts, it gives us the feeling of being incomplete, and may even cause us to change completely.

(6) OUR TRUE SEARCH FOR ETERNITY
You and I have the same search for eternity. The truth is only God can complete us ETERNALLY.

A wise man once told me that...
"WE SHOULD INVEST OUR TIME WISELY."
People all have the SAME 24 HOURS A DAY, but why do people tend to be HAPPIER AND MORE SUCCESSFUL? On the other hand, why do people fall in to ADDICTIONS, DESPAIR and DISCONTENTMENT?

(7) SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO? WHAT TO DO BEST?
We must weigh what we indulge in, and become more aware of what's PASSING, MOMENTARY and SHORT-TERM. Instead, we must INVEST OUR TIME MORE ON LONG-TERM FULFILLMENTS such as:

-Have a relationship with God, and spend time with Him everyday through your own BONDING TIME.
-Spend time with your family, bond with them, love them, and RESPECT them.
-Act with love towards your gf/bf/wife/husband, and be unconditional and SELFLESS.
-Make friends, be with friends and smile all the time.
-Invest in being the best person you could ever be in school and in work.

Invest in good memories. Invest in relationships.

Self-fulfillment and self growth all the way is the right way.

ULTIMATELY, to do what you’re designed for,
GIVE GLORY TO GOD, AND LIFT UP EVERY SINGLE DAY TO HIM.

Always remember that ETERNITY IS WAITING FOR US.
Invest your time wisely and seek for long term fulfillments, when you do, then my friend you’re living a life you’re designed to live, "a lifestyle of peace and love" and I’m certain you’ll feel AWESOME!
